            Friends and admirers of Bishop Roberts R Roberts and descendents of the ROBERTS family met at the Old Bethel Chuch at Bishop Roberts Park at 1 pm on August 4, 2001 to form the Bishop Robert R. Roberts Memorial Association.

            Larry Goettel welcomed all attending, opening prayer was offered by Rev. Wm. Sweigart after which the proposed Articles of Constitution and By-Laws were presented by Janet Endris. Approval was unanimous. The documents were signed by those in attendance, thus forming the association.

            Officers of the association were then selected by nomination and voted upon by show of hands. Elected to office were the following:

President/Treasurer: Larry Goettel
Vice-president: Larry Roberts
Secretary: Janet Endris
Assist Secy: Pamela Roberts Brewster

            It was agreed that free Charter Membership be granted, this first year, to any interested party by contacting Janet Endris at 2445 H Street, Bedford, IN 47421, or by e-mail.

            Donations can be sent to Larry Goettel, 3036 Lawrenceport Rd., Mitchell, IN 47446.

In honor of the Bishop’s birthday (Aug. 2, 1778) Larry requested that those attending silently reflect upon the many contributions made by the Bishop to family and community, during his lifetime and the meeting was adjourned.
